Prevention of sexual violence in sports boarding schools: a survey from Germany

Abstract Numerous sexual violence cases have been reported in boarding schools as well sports organizations. However, no studies conducted so far that investigate the prevention of schools. Our study explores to what extent Germany register a relevant problem their organizations and which measures they apply. Based on theoretical framework organizational development, structures, cultures grades change toward were analyzed. To this end, survey with representatives from all 59 was conducted. The results reveal various aspects can be improved regarding development specific measures. Among other results, regression analysis shows importance structurally anchor topic organization, develop an actively campaigning culture, establish internal self-obligation, conduct theme-specific evaluation ensure better protection athletes
